Winter Dust

Winter dust in my eyes,
don’t know how time flies.

A few winters ago,
you were here,
so near.
I could smell the fragrance,
of your hair.

You left your footprints,
on my heart,
frozen in snow,
they refuse to depart.

I wait for the spring,
to see your smile,
a long journey of time,
has to take this heart of mine.

Winter dust in my eyes,
don’t know how time flies.

Sweet Winter

Ah! sweet winter,
here you come,
to take away old summer’s glum.

Ah! sweet winter,
lay your whites,
all around, lows and heights.

Ah! sweet winter,
trees stand barren,
accepting their present,
holding together seeds of passion.
Ah! sweet winter.

Sweet-Bitter Autumn

Autumn now reigns,
the heart of earth,
with joy and mirth.

Flowery fragrance in the air,
colours toddle here and there.

But, on other side of this life,
there’s much loss and strife.

Falling leaves, falling fruits,
decay and dry,
with a promise to,
rejuvenate and fly.

Let It Burn

Everytime you cry,
something within me dies,
your loneliness, your pain,
is part of my heart’s terrain.

Don’t be afraid to love again,
allow to burn love’s flame,
let me hold you in my arms,
and shower love charms.

Floating together to horizon,
we’ll see our love rising,
heaven will witness our pledge,
and we’ll find our own planet’s edge.

For the Woman of Substance

She is a woman,
made not of wax, but of fire,
in her eyes,
you can feel the burning ambitions and desires.

She has her own fears,
but, her attitude is crystal clear.

She progresses through her path,
boldly facing the worldly wrath.

Nothing can stop her, even if you want,
always remember,
she has a heart carved out of ember,
for she is a woman of substance.

Feed Me the Words

Oh! these words,
travel through the world.
A pilgrimage they make,
passing oceans, skies and lakes.

What panoramic scenes we know,
if words are not to flow.
                      a gamboling kitten,
                      a solitary lighthouse,
                      a volery of birds.

What paradisiac nature we see,
if words are not set free.
                       the auriferous sun,
                       the fluvial contours,
                       the humongous hills.

Words are what - the mirabilia of this world.
So, feed me the words.

Song of the Lonely Whale

In the vast blue
he swims aloof
his songs no one can hear
the pain is too much to bear
unique in this whole wide world
far off from emotions he’s hurled
deep in oceanic glen and glades
echoes
song of the lonely whale.

Folds of Life

Folds of life turn over and over,
as wind plays in leaves and clover.
Each leaf vein carries story of yore,
many more hide behind the door.

When transitions unfold,
much words stay untold,
struggling to come out,
in open they wish to sprout.

Folds of life rise,
beyond the eyes,
and shut in our mind,
as memories we wish to find.

This is the Night of a Summer’s Day

This is the night,
of a summer’s day,
when daylights,
hide, tire and wane.

Moon’s cooling gaze,
fades summer’s rage.
Night’s magic all over,
floats till dawn,
as morning haze.

This is the night,
of a summer’s day,
when daylights,
hide, tire and wane.

Treasure

Of
all the treasures
that
I hold
you
are the
most precious of all
shining goodness
of your soul
makes
my heart’s
essence glow
for
you
are the
only treasure
I behold

25.5.16

Trees

Lush green trees,
of summer’s breeze,
sing to us a melody sweet.

Pale green buds of new beginnings,
lucid white seed sprinklings,
happily feed the finches.

As summery hot days soar,
Oh! trees, your shades,
our scorched hearts  adore.

5th June : World Environment Day, lets do our bit for it.

Dreamy Sea: Rondel

Beautiful night, glowing moon,
it’s you and me forever to be,
night hums a mellow tune,
singing lullaby for me and thee.

Wishes fly in sandy dunes,
on the shores of dreamy sea,
beautiful night, glowing moon,
it’s you and me forever to be.

But this dream ends soon,
reality is different to see,
vanishing suddenly you and me,
dissolving in vast lagoon,
beautiful night, glowing moon.

Rondel: French poetry form; 13 lines. The rhyme pattern is A. B. a. b.. and .a. b. A. B. for the first two stanzas and a quintain for the final stanza that mirrors the first two stanzas, with the last line repeating the first line of the first stanza . The meter is open but like most French poetry, usually of eight syllables.

The key

Behind the closed door of ignorance,
lie ego and hurt,
chasing the soul,
towards its fall.

The key of,
salvation and detachment,
opens the door,
unleashing the spirit.

Like a child,
it flees into wild,
finds its shrine,
and
 joins the divine.

19.2.16

Silence

Underneath
percolating rain drops in sand

beneath
dew drops rolling down the leaf blades

among
playful waves of roaring oceans

there’s
 deep silence

only heard
by a
heart
calm within

16.2.16

Night’s Palette

Night’s stark,
dark colour palette,
enamours the landscapes.
White jasmines,
glowing fireflies – stars of the black sky.

Drop by drop,
trickle,
the songs of owls and wolves,
breaking the silence,
of the moon.

This darkness,
has its own beauty,
its satin smoothness,
fills the voids,
of loneliness.

15.2.16

Thousand Deaths

As she
saw his hand
slipping away
from her hand
                          she died
                          thousand deaths
                          in that
                          one instance
His face
faded away
like butterfly’s wings
                                      she knew
                                      from
                                      that moment
                                      days were over
                                      of spring
Life went on
at its own pace
leaving
scars of pain
in the voices
of space
                 and
                           she died
                           thousand deaths
                           at
                           every instance

Surrender

You are ~
the mesmerising fragrance of an enchanting spring,
the warm breath of assurance in freezing winter chill.

No citadel or silk wall, no garden or waterfall,
can ever bind a meditating heart drowned in love.
Be it Jasmine, rose, daisy or lavender,
nothing can cage the pure love in its splendour.

Let us dissolve into each other,
and all over together rediscover,
the meaning of life, pain, love and suffering,
and how a few words are so comforting.

Let there be no you or me,
but only one - “we”.
We are now, in unison,
our energies merging within,
the cosmos.

Yearnings

Cold flowers of ice flakes,
fill my heart, keep me awake.
How many winters more to go,
before you bind me in aeonian vows.

Many moons yet to pass,
and to cross numerous paths.
But a heart has to wait,
until time seals the fates.
